Update on the Future of Cataloging Standards

Resource Description and Access (RDA) is expected to replace AACR2 as the standard for cataloging and description in 2009. Theoretically based on the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) model, RDA will also impact the future design of online catalogs. In this workshop, we will discuss the ongoing development of RDA, its relationship to FRBR, and other recent developments in the discussion of cataloging standards.
