Using WorldCat Collection
Analysis in Academic Libraries

WorldCat Collection Analysis allows academic libraries to analyze
and compare their collections to peer libraries that have their holdings
in WorldCat. Libraries use WorldCat Collection Analysis to prepare for
digitization projects, analyze collection gaps, and assist with
collaborative collection development efforts. The program can also help
to facilitate acquisition, weeding, preservation, and accreditation
processes.
This one-hour session will focus on academic library workflows and
demonstrate how to:
- Analyze a collection's age and subject content
- Compare a collection to that of other OCLC member libraries or
authoritative collection development sources
- Examine the influence of interlibrary loan transactions on your
collection
- Generate exportable and printable reports
